Bad day for Lance Armstrong
SANTA ROSA -- It hasn't been Lance Armstrong's best day of racing. Besides having his time-trial bike stolen from the Astana team bus, Armstrong had a flat tire and crashed during today's 107-mile ride in a cold, rainy wind.
Race radio reported Armstrong's team quickly switched his wheel, that he has gotten back up from the crash and is back in the peloton.
Armstrong's day hasn't been as bad as that of Saturday's prologue winner Fabian Cancellara.
Cancellara, the reigning Olympic time trial gold medalist, withdrew from the race at Sunday's first feed station, complaining of a fever. Hey, in these conditions a little fever might warm things up.
