While the majority of us get sized for barrels and try to determine L.A’.s busiest street corners upon which to maximize pencil selling time, it’s good to know that we’re not alone in feeling the crunch of the economic crisis. Over at Lakers Blog, we’ve filled a lot of cyberspace with questions on how the economy will affect things going forward, given a shrinking salary cap and news that the NBA is opening up a line of credit to ailing teams. Things are ugly for individual athletes as well. Johnny Damon and Scott Eyre are among MLBers caught up in the Stanford Financial scandal and are apparently unable to pay their bills.

Stars, they’re just like us. But before getting too blue about the state of the athlete classes, there’s good news as well:

Marko Jaric and Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima eloped back on Valentine’s Day
, and are now officially hitched.

Whew! If the former Clipper, currently averaging 1.9 points a game for Memphis (helping cement his status as the bearer of one of the NBA’s eye-poppingly worst contracts) can keep himself steeped in such good fortune, we know that order hasn’t totally disappeared from the universe.
