Pete Carroll promotes Rocky Seto to defensive coordinator

USC Coach Pete Carroll tonight promoted Rocky Seto to defensive coordinator.

Seto, 32, succeeds Nick Holt, who left to become defensive coordinator at Washington where former Trojans offensive coordiantor is the new head coach.

Carroll also promoted linebackers coach Ken Norton Jr. to assistant head coach and hired Jethro Franklin as defensive line coach.

Franklin was a member of the Trojans 2005 staff. He coached for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for one season and was with the Houston Texans the last two.
