Lakers' Sasha Vujacic down with back spasms

January 12, 2009 |  1:23 pm

The Lakers lost another body today when guard Sasha Vujacic went down with back spasms and was unable to practice.

Vujacic wasn't going to leave with the team for its flight to Houston this afternoon because the Lakers said he was unable to fly. He got treatment during practice.

The Lakers said they hope Vujacic would get better and meet the team in either Houston on Tuesday night or in San Antonio on Wednesday for those games.

Vujacic, who suffered the back spasms during last night's game against the Miami Heat, became the backup point guard because Jordan Farmar is out after having knee surgery.

The Lakers also don't have Luke Walton (sore knee) and Lamar Odom (bruised bone in knee).

Vujacic was averaging 6.0 points in 16.2 minutes.
