Kings recall Oscar Moller, but he won’t play tonight

It’s mostly bookkeeping, but the Kings officially recalled forward Oscar Moller from the Swedish junior national team Tuesday, before the L.A. club played the Ducks at Staples Center.

Moller was the captain of Sweden’s silver medal-winning team at the world junior championships and had one goal, four points and four penalty minutes in six games.

He is traveling from Ottawa to Los Angeles today, and Coach Terry Murray said he expects Moller to be on the ice for practice Wednesday in El Segundo. It’s likely Moller will return to the lineup Thursday at Staples Center in the finale of the Kings’ home-and-home series against the Ducks.

‘I’m thinking that when he left as soon as he got back he would go back in the lineup,’ Murray said. ‘That certainly was the thought process I had.... I want to talk to him. He’s a young guy and I know he’s going to say he feels OK, but we’ll see how the game goes here tonight and make a decision on that.’

The experience, Murray said, ‘is going to definitely be a positive for him.’

Murray also said he was looking tonight for 60 minutes’ worth of the the same assertive game the Kings played in the third period of their 2-1 shootout victory over Philadelphia on Saturday.

‘I’m looking for a hard game,’ he said. ‘It’s always demanding whenever you play against Anaheim. They’re big, they’re strong, they know how to win. They have won. And the little things that are done in the game are going to be the turning points in the game.’
