Ryo Ishikawa, the 17-year-old Japanese golfer who at 15 became the youngest winner of a recognized men’s tour event when he won on the Japan Golf Tour, will make his PGA Tour debut at the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club.

Ishikawa finished fifth last year on the Japan money list and is the youngest player to be ranked in the top 100 in the world. He has three professional victories and is being granted one of two international exemptions by the tour to compete in the event.

‘Ryo Ishikawa attracts ‘Tiger-like’ attention in Asia, and it will be fun for a U.S. audience to see him for the first time at the Northern Trust Open,’ Tom Pulchinski, tournament director, said in a statement.

The tournament will be played Feb. 19-22.

Ishikawa was also invited to play the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in Florida in late March.
