Dodgers and Angels notes -- and a bit more about Andruw Jones

Here's a bit more about Andruw Jones, who was unconditionally released earlier today by the Dodgers.

The remaining $22.2 million on Jones' contract will be spread out evenly over the next six years, meaning Jones will be paid $3.7 million a year over that span.

The original terms of Jones' deal would've earned him $17.1 million this year, so the Dodgers shaved more than $13 from their payroll.

In other news, four Dodgers and five Angels filed for salary arbitration today.

Jonathan Broxton, Andre Ethier, Russell Martin and Jason Repko of the Dodgers filed, as did Maicer Izturis, Mike Napoli, Darren Oliver, Robb Quinlan and Ervin Santana of the Angels.

Players and teams will exchange salary figures on Tuesday.
