Clippers: Root-canal mania

This was near the end of his pre-game chat with the media before tonight’s game against Portland, and Clippers’ GM and Coach Mike Dunleavy said if it seemed as though he sounded funny, there was a reason.

He had a root canal earlier in the day.

Of course, this Clipper season goes hand-in-hand so nicely with root canals. No one made any jokes about that link. Well ... not for about a good 10 seconds or so.

(I remained silent, still bitter about needing a root canal after part of my molar broke off on a Clipper trip to Houston in early December. Covering the Clippers, yes, can be a bit hazardous.)

‘You know what, actually this is the best part of my season,’ Dunleavy said, joking.

No follow-up was necessary.
