Bobby Braswell talks about Northridge basketball arrests

January 8, 2009 |  3:45 pm

Cal State Northridge men's basketball Coach Bobby Braswell is meeting with reporters this afternoon on campus.

The topic: The arrests of his son and two of his team's players in connection with a burglary at a Porter Ranch Best Buy on New Year's Day.

According to police, Jeffrey Braswell, 22, an employee of the store, allegedly used a co-worker's password to allow friends Deon Tresvant, Dallas Rutherford and Phannuel Gbewonyo to take $6,600 of electronic equipment without paying.

Tresvant is Northridge's top scorer, Rutherford, the son of the Braswell family's pastor, is a seldom-used reserve.
