Bill Bayno resigns as Loyola Marymount basketball coach

Bill Bayno Bill Bayno has resigned as Loyola Marymount men's basketball coach, Times' correspondent Robyn Norwood is reporting. The school will make the announcement later today.

Bayno, who was in his first season as the Lions' head coach, took a leave of absence recently and the team was being guided by former top assistant Max Good.

Loyola Marymount is 1-16 and coming off a 59-57 loss to Pepperdine on Saturday.

Good now takes over officially. Stay tuned to latimes.com/sports/ today for Norwood's reports on the situation.

Let's see...five men's basketball coaches in a little over 10 yeares as Athletic director - maybe the LMU President and boosters should be looking for someone different besides William Husak to lead the Lions program. LMU is a coach's graveyard.
