‘Survivor’ loses to Giants-Cowboys game in Nielsen ratings

Since ‘Amazing Race’ ended last Sunday, CBS filled that programming void by broadcasting the finale of ‘Survivor Gabon,’ in which a bow-tie wearing, 57-year-old high school physics teacher named Bob Crowley became the oldest winner ever.

But scrawny Bob had to take a back seat to the New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys game, which had a 15.4 overnight rating and 24 share to make it the highest-rated ‘Sunday Night Football’ game of the season, according to Nielsen Media Research overnight data.

So the Cowboys’ 20-8 win was seen by double the number of people who watched the skinny Crowley earn $1 million for living in Gabon for 39 days.

But kudos to Crowley anyway for winning. And for wearing a bow tie for 39 days in Gabon.
