Ned Colletti speaks to CC Sabathia in Vegas

CC Sabathia

General Manager Ned Colletti said he ran into CC Sabathia in the lobby of the Bellagio and was told by the free-agent pitcher that he wanted to be a Dodger. Colletti called Sabathia “a possibility” but added, “It’s an interesting dynamic with someone that’s long-term with a salary that’s higher than most.”

Colletti said he remains convinced that Derek Lowe has no intention of re-signing with the Dodgers. "We're not spending time trying to persuade him."

The Dodgers lost touch with Rafael Furcal's agent, Paul Kinzer, when it seemed like Furcal would sign with Oakland. But Furcal reportedly turned down a four-year deal from the Athletics, and Colletti said he had plans to meet with Kinzer later today.
