Lakers prepare for Memphis game

Leave it to Lakers Coach Phil Jackson to quote Chip Schaefer, the team's athletic performance and player development director, to describe the team's mood at practice Sunday in Memphis after two consecutive losses on the road.

"As Chip says, 'Some gave all and all gave some,' " Jackson said, laughing.

It was a cold, dreary day in Memphis, but the Lakers still had practice.

Losses to Miami and Orlando assured that would happen.

But Kobe Bryant, Derek Fisher and Pau Gasol were given the day off. Lamar Odom went through some drills, but not all of them, getting treatment for his upper respiratory infection.

That meant the rest of the Lakers played four-on-four full court at practice.
