Lakers' Pau Gasol out sick

Lakers forward Pau Gasol was sent home and won't play in tonight's game against the New York Knicks because of strep throat, according to a Lakers spokesman.

Gasol is second on the team in scoring (18.0), first in rebounding (9.3), second in assists (3.5) and is tied for second in blocked shots (1.0). He is first in minutes played per game (35.0) and started the first 23 games.

Gasol has probably been the most consistent player for the Lakers this season.
