Viatcheslav Voynov, the Kings’ second-round pick and 32nd overall in last June’s entry draft, was chosen to play for Team Russia in the world junior hockey championship, Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in Ottawa.

Defensemen Thomas Hickey (first round, fourth overall in 2007) and Colton Teubert (first round, 13th overall in 2008) were chosen to play for Canada. Center Oscar Moller, who unexpectedly made the Kings out of training camp, will be granted a leave to play for his native Sweden. He’s still around, though, and is scheduled to play against league-leading San Jose tonight at Staples Center.

A team spokesman said Moller’s departure date is unsure, so it’s unclear whether Moller will stick around long enough for the Kings’ game against the New York Rangers on Wednesday, also at Staples Center.
