Dustin Brown did the dirty work, and Anze Kopitar got the goal, as the Kings took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission Saturday at Staples Center against Minnesota.

Brown did some digging at the goal crease and managed to scrape loose the puck from under goaltender Niklas Backstrom’s pads. Kopitar benefited, as he scooped the puck to his left, then tapped it in 15 minutes 8 seconds into the first period.

The Kings received bad news before the game, as forward Derek Armstrong was reclassified as having ‘concussion-like symptoms.’ Armstrong was injured Tuesday when he was slammed by the Colorado Avalanche’s Cody McLeod.
