Here's the De La Hoya-Pacquiao rebate deal
I've been deluged with questions about how potential pay-per-view buyers of tonight's Oscar De La Hoya-Manny Pacquiao fight can gather rebates for the $54.95 bout.
De La Hoya actually confused the situation by suggesting that tequila company Cazadores offered one of the rebates. That's not true, a spokesman for the company told me. "We have a sweepstakes [promotion], but there was an error in communication between Golden Boy Promotions and Cazadores," spokesman Sean-Patrick M. Hillman said.
But beer company Tecate and Coca-Cola Co.'s Full Throttle Energy Drink do indeed offer rebate deals on certain packages of products. The consumer should be sure to purchase the respective product with the rebate promotion on the packaging, and company officials say the products should be found at major grocery and convenience stores in the Southland.
The deals can cut $30 off the pay-per-view price, and the rebates will come, officials say, when buyers mail in the receipts of their Tecate and/or Full Throttle purchases with their cable-satellite bills.

This is a total fraud. I bought an 18 pack with the picture of both fighters on the Tecate beer and there is no coupon in there, nothing about sending it in. This was at Ralph's and I got the manager and he said the rebate is inside. Garbage...no way am I supporting this fight or Tecate.

Jim:
The rebate is not inside the box; I went to the Ralph's at Sawtelle & National and the rebate coupons are there for the taking. You get another $10 back if you buy a teuila for $15.99 or more. Hope this works for you.

I agree with Jim. This is a total fraud with very little information available anywhere about the rebates. My husband and I went to five different grocery stores (including Ralphs) and a CVS here in the East L.A. area and we did NOT find any rebate coupons. We did find a 12-pack of Tecate beer with a photo of DeLaHoya and Pacquin on the outside packaging but no coupon inside. We asked the managers at all the stores if they had received any of the coupons and they all said no. Most didn't know what we were talking about. The clerk at CVS told us they didn't receive any due to Oscar ... meaning it would mean less money for him if people paid less for the fight. I was sure that living in East L.A. (and Oscar's hometown area at that) would assure we'd find the rebate coupons. No such luck.... didn't even find one! Where were the rebate coupons distributed? And how many? We sure couldn't find any. It's all a scam. This is very disappointing!

Not surprised, that De La Joya would leave his gente in ELA hanging like that, but hey, he's your "Golden Boy"

To MLOWw are you silly or what?
What does de la Hoya have to do with rebates.
He is the fighter not the advertising agency for the products!
People outside of Eat La did watch the fight you know!
