Former UFC fighter Justin Levens and wife found dead in Laguna Niguel

December 17, 2008 | 11:00 pm

Justinlevens Ex-Ultimate Fighting Championship and World Extreme Cagefighting participant Justin Levens, 28, and his wife, Sarah McLean-Levens, 25, were found shot to death in their Laguna Niguel condominium Wednesday in what law enforcement officials have described preliminarily as a murder-suicide, numerous news agencies are reporting.

Levens hasn't fought in either organization since 2006, and one of his losses that year was to Evan Tanner, who died on a desert trip this year. Levens went on to fight in the defunct International Fight League, and MMA website Sherdog reports that his last fight came earlier this year in Lemoore.

Orange County sheriff's authorities report that more information is expected Thursday.

Was he on any prescription mood drugs? Anti-depressants? - I'll bet he was.

Hmm...didnt this happen to some other fighter a couple of months ago. I'm betting steroids or some other medications are involved.

very sad... i grew up with sara :(

Stop specualting about things you don't know. He wasn't using roids, nor mood altering drugs. The fact of the matter is that the only people who can answer "why" is him and Sarah. He was a great guy and Sarah was about the nicest girl I have ever met. They will be deeply missed. It is truly a shame.
