Kings tickets -- everybody likes a bargain

The Kings’ 36-hour ‘rush’ sale of tickets to January home games at $11.50 each has been a success so far.
The promotion, which began at 11:50 a.m. on Friday (a play on flagship station KTLK’s AM frequency of 1150), was scheduled to end at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday. The franchise sold more than 13,000 tickets as of mid-afternoon Friday, according to Luc Robitaille, the Kings’ president of business operations. Robitaille promised to deliver an updated number later today.
Extra sales people were called in to help handle the demand. Season-ticket holders were given a special pre-rush time period to buy more tickets, and many apparently took advantage of the opportunity.
Not all Kings fans are happy campers, though, and you can’t blame them.
Some season-ticket holders are understandably annoyed that they paid big bucks for their seats well in advance, and they’re now seeing people buy seats next to them or around them for a bargain-basement price.
