Former Angels Manager Terry Collins is a top candidate to manage China’s entry in the 2009 World Baseball Classic.

The position opened when Jim Lefebvre accepted the job of hitting coach with the Padres. Lefebvre led the fledgling Chinese national team for several years, including stints as manager of China’s 2006 WBC entry and 2008 Olympic team.
