LPGA's Kraft Nabisco pro-am opened to the general public

December 12, 2008 |  3:15 pm

The economic downturn has moved into the world of the LPGA Tour and its first major of the year -- the Kraft Nabisco Championship. And if you've got a few extra bucks (well, maybe more than a few), you'll have an opportunity to play the pro-am event with LPGA players and celebrities.

The two-round pro-am, to be played March 31 and April 1 at the Arnold Palmer Course and Dinah Shore Tournament Course in Mission Hills, will be open to the general public for the first time. Previously, only LPGA players, celebrities and Kraft executives and guests played in the pro-am. About 200 spots will be available for the general public.

Not only do you get to play two rounds, you get a couple of practice rounds, invitations to parties all week and a luxury tee package. All this for only ... $10,000 per player.

Though Kraft remains the title sponsor, it has decided to back off on its "customer hospitality," according to a release from the tournament.
