That wasn’t bleeping you heard during the singing of the national anthem Thursday before the New York Jets at New England Patriots game being broadcast on the NFL Network.

Jada, a Boston-based rhythm and blues singing group, performed live in the stadium and on the NFL Network broadcast. Viewers heard three or four sounds that resembled the ‘bleeps’ used to cover up obscene language. But according to NFL Network spokesman Dennis Johnson, those weren’t ‘bleeps.’ They were technical glitches.

The NFL Network continues to beam the live national anthem performances before games. Many other networks quit after the notorious Roseanne Barr episode.
