The Angels' Sean Rodriguez and Erick Aybar are off to fast starts in the Dominican winter league.

Through 12 games, Rodriguez is batting .327 with six home runs -- second-most in the league -- and 13 RBIs for Gigantes del Cibao of the central Dominican city of San Fernando de Macoris. Aybar, playing for Licey of Santo Domingo, is hitting .357 with seven RBIs through nine games.

Another Angels infielder, Brandon Wood, is struggling, however, hitting .179 with 14 strikeouts in 10 games for Estrellas de Oriente of San Pedro de Macoris.
