Kings’ Coach Terry Murray may avoid the issue, but is there any denying that Erik Ersberg is the team’s No. 1 goaltender?

Ersberg started his seventh consecutive game when the Kings played the Ducks Sunday. He was also making starts on back-to-back nights, having made 19 saves in a 3-1 loss to Nashville Saturday. Murray had the perfect moment to bring Jason LaBarbera--tabbed No. 1 in training camp--back into the lineup Sunday, but chose Ersberg instead.

Ersberg made six saves in a scoreless first period Sunday. Jonas Hiller, who started in net for the Ducks, made 14 saves, while surviving six minutes of Kings’ power play.
