The ‘booooos’ cascading from the crowd at the Honda Center certainly weren’t being showered on Florida’s David Booth, whose hat trick had the Panthers leading, 3 to 1, through two periods Sunday evening.

These were disgruntled Ducks’ fans that were watching their team lose to the bottom-feeding Panthers, who came into the game with the fewest points in the NHL.

Booth had two second-period goals to break a 1-1 tie. The first came when the Ducks’ Brian Sutherby couldn’t control the puck in the neutral zone. The second came after the Ducks’ Scott Niedermayer was sent off for an interference penalty that came at the Panthers’ end.

The Ducks were looking at two days off if they won and played well. Expect a team workout Monday.
