And about the Eagles' starting quarterback?

5:34 PM, November 24, 2008

Kevin Kolb of the Philadelphia Eagles looks to pass against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

The NFL Network likes to send out little quote tidbits from its announcers to promote the upcoming Thursday night game.

This week's game is Philadelphia against Arizona.

It's odd that the highlight quotes don't have a word about who will be Philadelphia's starting quarterback. That's going to be kind of a big story this week. Former USC Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart is likely to be on the bench, while former Houston Cougars quarterback Kevin Kolb might be the Philly starter. Never saw that coming.

“The fact that this team was able to hang in with the Super Bowl Champions says a lot about where this football team is.” -- Chris Collinsworth on the Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals have found a gem in Tim Hightower. To keep Edgerrin James on the bench, he's truly proving his worth, not just in the games, but in practice as well.-- Steve Mariucci

It’s time to look for the Eagles defense to lead this team. The Cardinals have a very talented group of wide receivers with Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald, so the Eagles defense must make a statement in this game. -- Deion Sanders

I’ve never done a game where (Eagles defensive coordinator) Jim Johnson and the blitz didn’t play a major role in the game, so I believe (the blitz) will be coming. -- Cris Collinsworth

Hey, why don't you say how that former heisman trophy award winner threw seven interceptions recently.

DON'T KNOCK THE UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON. They are a good school with a good team. It makes me sick that monkeys like you make up some kind of hype about some BCS schools being the only ones that count and that some conferences are better than others. Your opinion allows for alot of good teams to go ignored while poorer teams get the spotlight.

That is why you have just a little blob on the internet rather than any real column. get a real job and get a life.

And what former Heisman winner are you speaking of because Leinart has been on the bench all year and McNabb wasn't a Heisman winner.
