‘Deshawn needs to stop saying she’s like a single mother. She has a chef, estate manager, housekeeper, a hairdresser and makeup artist that come to her house, etc. A single mother gets up early in the morning and makes their children’s breakfast. A single mother has to make appointments and arrangements to get their hair done. That means finding a babysitter and not having to wait in a hot beauty salon for hours to get serviced. A single mom has to wait for child support to arrive in order to buy their children’s clothes, etc. A single mom doesn’t have a live in nanny ir interview people to take care of the household needs. A single mom is the estate manager. A single mom is the chef. A single mom doesn’t have the luxury of going out with friends all the time. A single mom doesn’t get to go to church by herself. A single mom knows how to control her boys and teach them the value of patience. ‘ Wait for the damn pancakes to be ready, then you get to eat!! Stop your whining boy and sit your behind down!’ A single mother doesn’t have the luxury of being pampered on a regular basis. A single mom is lucky to get 2 minutes to herself @ the end of the day. A single mom is a single mom, not wife with a husband who is on the road six days out of the season. Remember, your husband has an off season. A single mom never has an off season.

‘Respect to Bob Miller, but come on people! It’s all about Vin Scully, he IS the Dodgers. He got me hooked on Dodger baseball when I lived in the States for a few years, his level of professionalism and wordplay genius are unmatched anywhere in all sports. Bob is good, Chick was great, Vin IS the best. Make no mistake.

‘All due respect to Scott but Bob Miller is more than just ‘good.’ He has not been broadcasting Kings games for 36 years just because he is good. He is easily on par with Chick and Vin for the unique ability to make the game come alive. Yes, Vin IS the Dodgers but Bob IS the Kings. It is nice to see Bob finally get some overdue and well-deserved recognition in The Times. He is also one of the classier people you will find, either in or out of the world of sports.’

‘It can only be Sandy Koufax. Anyone else is a travesty. In fact he is so far above the others there should be no 2nd, 3rd or 4th. The rankings should go 1,5,6,7,8,9,10... He carried the team in 63, 65, [and] 66, which led to pennants, and if he didn’t have the finger problem in 62 they would have won the pennant then as well. Sorry Don Drysdale, Sorry Willie Davis, Sorry Mike Piazza. And if you don’t believe he was the sole reason for those pennants, check out their record in 67 and 68 after his retirement. The survived the loss of Tommy Davis in his prime but they couldn’t survive his retirement in 67.’

‘I agree that Lute did not leave under the best circumstances, but you don’t have to berate him with ‘the art of graceful retirement.’ Classless.’

‘I am embarrassed and appalled at a nation and media that would behave the way we have toward Sarah Palin. Saturday Night Live needs to be cancelled. Sarah Palin is smart, beautiful, feminine, exudes leadership, has solid values and has a nice family. I may not even agree with all of her values, but I respect the fact that she knows who she is and is unafraid to share that. She falls back on her values in all she does. People are jealous because this is a woman who has made it to the top without emulating male behavior. She looks and acts like a woman and yet her strength and leadership are evident. Women are eating her alive and men can’t deal with it either. It’s as if they are saying - there’s a place for you and it can’t be sports or a political arena. We can’t stand the fact that this is a woman that has it all and still has her feet on the ground. It’s just not fair. This spoiled brat, sense of entitlement nation, needs to get over itself. This woman is the real deal. We owe her profound apologies. Even one of my daughters, who is a Democrat, watched her on television and said ‘she just looks and acts like a leader, good for her.’ As for her wardrobe, I am glad she spent $150,000 on clothes. She represents her nation at a very high level and hopefully will continue to do so. I would hope for my daughters and myself that she would be someone we would aspire to be. She is in a leadership position and she acts like it. Good for her. I can see her donating these clothes to charity after it’s all over. By the way, hasn’t Obama spent historical amounts of money on his campaign - unprecedented in our nation’s history? Didn’t I hear that he spends $225,000/day on campaign ads? Oh well, that’s okay, I am sure the left over will go to support some of his new initiatives. FYI, I was a single mom and raised 4 kids. I am not wealthy.’

‘Unless Sarah Palin can strap on the pads and give the Kings some help in goal, I do not need to see her at another rink until after the election when she can go back to driving the Zamboni in Juneau.’
