Tony Romo out a month with broken pinkie
Tony Romo isn't pointing fingers after the Dallas Cowboys' latest loss.
Maybe because he can't.
The star quarterback suffered a broken right (throwing) pinkie on the first play of overtime in Sunday's 30-24 loss at Arizona and is expected to be out a month. That's very bad news for the Cowboys (4-2), who are looking regain their balance after two losses in three games.
Romo is 23-9 as a starter since taking over for Drew Bledsoe two years ago.
So into the No. 1 spot steps 40-year-old Brad Johnson, who hasn't started a game since 2006 in Minnesota. And the Cowboys are heading into a tough stretch: at St. Louis (fresh off a victory over Washington), Tampa Bay, at the New York Giants, and, after a week off, a rematch at Washington.
