An amazing race, a starry dance and some unreal housewives

Well, our cheating ex-NFLer, Ken Greene, and his increasingly assertive but directionally challenged ex-wife, Tina, didn’t finish first in Sunday’s leg of ‘The Amazing Race.’

They finished fourth because Tina couldn’t find her way around Angkor Wat, which doesn’t look at all like Pullman, Wash., the last place she and Ken lived while he was a Washington State assistant football coach.

Winning the leg? Former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Starr Spangler and her brother Nick. Though when the brother-sister team won a romantic vacation for two to St. John, Phil (the show host) touted all the (romantic) snorkling and lounging and beach time and sunset dinners, which sounded a little creepy.

Tonight, it is performance night on ‘Dancing With the Stars.’

I have a bad feeling about Olympics star Maurice Greene. He’s been slow and not nearly as enthusiastic to please the crowd as Warren Sapp has been.

Not as bad a feeling, though, as I have about one of our ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta.’

It’s not that I didn’t watch last week. But, what can be said about a recently cut NFL player (Ed Hartwell) who, at a little cocktail gathering in his own kitchen, circles his wife, Lisa Wu-Hartwell, and pretends to ‘mark his territory’ like a ‘lion in the Serengeti?’

All in good fun.

And poor, naive DeShawn Snow, wife of ex-NBA player Eric Snow.

DeShawn is trying to organize a fundraiser for her foundation, and take in $1 million in one night.

Her plan? Get a local jeweler to bring hundreds of thousands of dollars of jewelry to her house and auction it off. The jeweler isn’t giving DeShawn these baubles. This seems like a disaster in the making.

Oh, and Shawn likes colorful diamonds, by the way, in case you are doing holiday shopping. Eric has been scarce on the show and it’s not as if he’s playing basketball this year.

His knee is shot but luckily he’ll make his scheduled $7.3 million from the Cleveland Cavaliers this season. Though, remember, DeShawn likes the diamonds!

Meanwhile, NeNe is hearing that somebody named ‘Curtis’ isn’t her father, and she wants a DNA test. Now! And Kim, who mysteriously refers to ‘Big Poppa’ as the source of her income and influence, sings. She wants to record a country music album. Or more accurately, she wants to pose for a country music album cover.

I make no value judgments here. Except, Kim has no voice. But neither did Britney Spears, so Kim may be well on her way to stardom. And Eric might really, really want to consider whether NBA retirement is for him.
