The Washington Post checked around and found numerous NBA players willing to share their views on the presidential election. While most of those interviewed said they support Barack Obama, the survey was far from unanimous:

Spencer Hawes, a second-year center with the Sacramento Kings, created a Facebook page for fans of conservative pundit Ann Coulter and had a bumper sticker on his car in high school that read, ‘God Bless George W. Bush.’ Hawes, 20, said he is backing Republican nominee John McCain and is excited about voting for president for the first time. Hawes hasn’t campaigned on behalf of McCain but said, ‘I’d be ready and willing if I was asked.’

Among the Obama backers are the Lakers’ Derek Fisher, Cleveland’s LeBron James, New Orleans’ Chris Paul and Portland’s Greg Oden.

Washington’s Gilbert Arenas, however, said he doesn’t plan to vote. Arenas, who will earn $14.5 million this year, said he thinks both contenders would raise his taxes if elected.
