McCain and Obama make World Series video pitch

Nothing like sitting down in front of the TV set and enjoying a big game, taking your mind off your worries for a few hours. Right?

Wrong, according to Fox. The opening segment for Game 1 of the World Series tonight recalls such uplifting and cheery events as the Civil War, the Great Depression and World War II.

Presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama will participate, according to a news release this morning from Fox and Major League Baseball;

Each candidate recorded inspirational quotes from American icons including Martin Luther King, Jr. and former presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy about the game of baseball as a beacon of hope through some of America’s most difficult times.
