Manny Ramirez didn't plot to leave Red Sox

October 10, 2008 |  1:59 pm

Manny_2 Scott Boras, the agent for Manny Ramirez, told the New York Times that Manny wasn't acting out so that the Boston Red Sox would trade him.

And, Boras says, he certainly didn't advise Ramirez to play his way out of Boston.

"Everyone said we went to Manny and said, 'Don't do things on the field that you would normally do,' '' Boras told the newspaper. "I can only say when people raise that question: Manny hit .360 in July, led the team in home runs, R.B.I.'s, the whole thing. What is it Manny wasn't doing? I would like to be responsible for Manny hitting .360.''

yea, right ...... all you had to do was watch manny in his last weeks here in boston to see that he was doggin' it. he is a hugely talented hitter who is also spoiled and immature and disingenuous. he cares only for himself --- not for his team, not for his teammates, and not for the fans. just watch -- he'll do the same wherever he goes!

I watched many of the Red Sox games this year and I can say that Manny did not play his best. I was quite surprised to see him run so fast when he got to LA!! Man, can he hustle!! Anyway, he can say he loved the Boston fans, but he did not earn his paycheck and I'm glad he's gone. Win or lose, Boston is a better team without him.

yeah red sox will be as good as ever but with manny they were awesome he's my favorite player and I hate to see him gone

MANNY IS A JOKE AND HIS AGENT BORAS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED BY THE COMMISHS OFFICE.

I don't believe anything from Boras' mouth.
Shoves an elderly man to the ground? Hops around in left field now like some sort of gazelle? But from Boston to LA, Manny's the same player? Puleeeeez.

Man-child has no respect for the game or his teammates.

"did not earn his paycheck "
are u serious?
this season:
avg-314
rbi- 121
hr- 37
slg-601
thats not worth $20mil? then i dont know what is
you accepted paying drew $14 mil last year for 13homers and 50rbis but manny for these stats is unacceptable? ha

"yeah red sox will be as good as ever but with manny they were awesome he's my favorite player and I hate to see him gone"
same dude he still is my fav player sox or not
i went to the last game he played as a red sox, i had to see him last time before theo decided to ruin the team

theo will keep treating veterans badly and getting them out cause he got lucky a few times:
nomar- traded by theo, got lucky nomar was passed his prime
pedro- refused to pay him a little more GREAT pitcher unfortunatly passed his prime
manny- theo thinks hes passed his prime but wait he goes out and belts 37homers 121 rbis and bats 314

i think theo is passed his prime, i think that ape suit's lack of air flow killed some of his brain cells

ryan you so dont know what your talking about. nomar wanted more money and wasnt worth it he started losing it in boston. everybody knows that except you.. pedro had one good year then shoulder surgery. "reward him "you say? baseballs abuisness you pink hat. he doesnt think mannys past his prime just wants him to live up to his contract. "option years" which he would be paid well. then if he gets injured were not locked in.. please do your home work be fore posting and pretending to be smart

have been a Codger fan for a long time.
(Koufax, Drysdale, Wills)
Manny is the best pick-up in a long time.
Put the Dodgers over the top!
A Dodgers/Red Sox World Series would be great.

Haha the red sox fans seem bitter...that's fine, we are happy to let you pay his salary and watch him hit home runs for us!

Manny, the curse is on! Do not worry about a thing whoever has done wrong to you - allow me to list them - Boston Red Sox, Schilling, Bonds, the 64 yr. old that you should have ____ plotted that evil mess he will pay too, mark my words is just a matter of time. God is very powerful! Boston will not win a world series ever again for the next thirty (30) years! you can count on it!
