So Joe Biden drives past Dover Speedway on the way to the Delaware beaches and suddenly he’s trying to talk NASCAR with folks from Tobacco Road.

At least he realized his attempt to be a good ol’ boy -- Joe the Gearhead? -- was falling flat and gave it up.

A poll on Wednesday showed Barack Obama and John McCain tied among NASCAR voters. The Democrats should take that 50% and be satisfied.
