Oscar De La Hoya, Angelo Dundee to pair?

October 29, 2008 |  6:05 pm

Golden Boy Promotions has a major announcement scheduled tomorrow afternoon in a conference call.

In a call to our numerous boxing sources to check out various rumors -- Is Erik Morales returning to fight Juan Manuel Marquez? Is Winky Wright going to be on the undercard? -- one tipster has apparently delivered the goods:

Oscar De La Hoya is going to bring in Hall of Fame trainer Angelo Dundee as a consultant as the Golden Boy trains in Big Bear for his Dec. 6 147-pound fight against Manny Pacquiao at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

De La Hoya already has Hall of Fame inductee Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain to train him, but it certainly won't hurt having the wisdom of the 87-year-old former cornerman for Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard around.

This is speculation until the announcement becomes official, of course.

Even Dundee comes in for Dela Hoya, it wouldn't help much. Dundee is "obsolete".

oscar dela hoya should train very well so that he can beat to manny pacquio. Or else he will lost.

Oscar Delahoya will KO pacman with a lethal counter left hook. this fight won\t be a close fight. decision or stoppage will favor Oscar trust me on this one

Oscar Delahoya will loose against the underdog Pacman even if he had Crocodile
Dundee on his side .LOL

Hey.! dynamosparks! Are you God of the Idiots and you know what will happen on this fight?

I think this will be a long and hard fight for both oscar and manny since both fighters preparing hard for this coming dec 6 fight This will be an exciting fight and perhaps a fight of the year

BOTH FIGHTERS HAVE 50/50 CHANCE ON WINNING THE BOUT...THAT IS WHY IT IS A MUST SEE FIGHT!!!! GO PACMAN!!

What's this? Ali trainer Dundee joining Oskie's bandwagon? Dela Hoya didn't do anything like this in his bout against Mayweather. Seriously, does the golden boy really think Pacquiao is more dangerous than PBF? I dunno...I dunno....

Pacman is dangerous fighter that's why ODLH hired dundee he's afraid of being TKO by pacman i agree pacman will win this fight ODLH will be tired at 9th round

gimmicks ain't gonna work. Hire Lex Luther and the Joker and the judges, too. Manny is gonna whoop Oscar. Oscar should go back into his big Golden Boy corner office and make his next 500 million dollars promoting other fighters. He should retire before he goes twelve rounds too many more times. What does he have to prove? Manny is a monster.

Manny Pacqauio will outpoint ODLH & knock him down in late rounds.
