Clippers' Jason Williams retires

September 26, 2008 |  1:41 pm

Jason Williams  Ah, the Jason Williams era in Clipperville ... all those memorable weeks.

Signed as a free agent on Aug. 7 by the Clippers, the point guard called it quits Friday. He didn't even make it to the first official practice, let alone media day.

His 10-year NBA career wound through Sacramento, Memphis and Miami, and L.A. as a final coda.

The final numbers: a career average of 11.4 points and 6.3 assists.

Jason, we hardly knew ye. I'll have a story, more details later on latimes.com.
