Chauffeur was wrong, defense says
The summations in the Phil Spector murder case came round full circle this afternoon --- ending for the day with remarks on Adriano De Souza, Spector’s chauffeur.
He testified that he saw Spector with a gun in his bloody hand immediately after the fatal shot that killed actress Lana Clarkson and heard him say, “I think I killed somebody.”
After lecturing jurors throughout the day on biology and physics, defense attorney Linda Kenney Baden, who will continue her arguments tomorrow, issued a simple denial of De Souza's testimony.
“He was simply mistaken,” Kenney Baden asserted.
“Those five little words -- only one of which can be mistaken -- and it makes the total difference in this case,” Kenney Baden said.
Mark your calendars: After both sides predicted -- wrongly -- that they would wrap up today, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Larry Fidler announced (after jurors had been dismissed for the day) that it may be Monday before arguments end and jurors begin deliberations.

Oh My ! Well its almost over for the Defense closing arguments except for one hour on Fri. Atty. Linda did her best, but in my opinion failed to make a dent. Instead of attacking one or two issues, she attacked everyone that had anything to do with the Prosecution and again trashed Lana . Her own experts stated that Dr. Pena did a proper autopsy but now its is improper . She reanimated Lana to explain the blood on Phils jacket , My doggy was scared that he was next, No I did not buy her excuses concerning the limo driver De Souza as to what he heard nor explain Phil holding the gun in his hand . Everything was every-body's fault except poor sweet Phil . The police did not make up their minds during the first 15 minutes upon arrival , he failed to follow their instructions two or three times while they tried to secure the scene Hey! Phil still had as far as they knew, a loaded gun . No , the jury if they decide for Guilty , Phil did this to himself by his actions and not cooperating with law enforcement , for me , he was buying time so he could gather his thoughts . For an innocent man, he sure acted guilty . The jury will have to make the decision , either way My doggy and I will not second guess them , if Not Guilty well , we will have to respect it , but if Guilty then I hope everyone respects it, and NO crying, ranting ect. Woff .

Innocent. No reasonable person is buying the prosecution story. The SCIENCE does not support their case. The statements relied on by the prosecution that were made by the driver have been contradicted by his earlier taped comments. This is EASY. It is over.

Just an FYI. Even though I was mistaken with the facts regarding John Lennon and Mal Evans, I had contacted the LA DA's office and did get a personal response that they would let DA Jackson know. I thought that was preaty neat. Thats all.
