Jurors test chauffeur's hearing

During the tour, several jurors also sat in a car that was parked in the courtyard to replicate the limo where Spector’s chauffeur was seated when he said he heard a loud noise, followed by the legendary music producer emerging from a door and saying, “I think I killed somebody.”

The chauffeur’s statements have been attacked by the defense, which contends he could not have clearly heard what Spector said because of the noise from the adjacent fountain. Defense lawyers also questioned how much drvie Adriano DeSouza could have heard, seated in the car with the doors and windows closed and the air conditioning on. DeSouza testified he got out of the car when he saw Spector.

Once again, the defence's argument is a little forced. I find it hard to believe Lana Clarkson killed herself. She was at a fan convention in Pasadena for 2 days before she was killed -- graciously posing and signing autographs for her fans. Photos on the net can prove that.

DeSouza also had the radio on.

I believe DeSouza testimony was spoon-fed by DA.

GREETINGS:

I AM A FRIEND OF JJ AND HAD BEEN IN THE PD, GO AHEAD KNOCK THE DRIVER'S STATEMENT....PHIL SPECTOR - GUN IN HIS HAND AND BLOOD ON IT, WHAT DO YOU WANT, SLAY THE THE MESSENGER-SPECTOR'S OWN DRIVER. SPECTOR DID NOT PICK UP THE PHONE TO CALL 911, THE DRIVER DID, WE WERE LISTENING TO THE TAPE ON TV....I LIKE MANY OTHERS AGREE WITH THE DRIVER, OH THE PD IN ME, IS MRS. BADEN SO SICK, HAS THE COURT CHECKED ON HER...I BET SHE IS ALSO WORKING ON HER SUMMATION, AND HUBBIE CAN HELP HER. I DO WISH HER WELL.

Mr. DeSouza's statement is clearly the most crucial testimony in this murder trial. He says he clearly heard Phil Spector's statement right after he heard the gunshot and he saw Phil Spector holding the gun with a bloody hand (finger). Since Phil Spector has clung to the "suicide" theory from day one, his defense team has struggled to defend him. The only problem I have with his defense team is that they seem callous and a bit off-kilter in their "collective" judgement. However from everything I have read ---this jury appears to be very alert, smart and methodical. I believe very strongly that Mr Spector is getting more than fair trial - even in LA

Eye/Ear witnesses are so often very mistaken. Barry Sheck of The Innoncence Project has proven this many times with the use of DNA and innoncent men have been freed. That seems to have been lost in the debate with respect to the limo driver. Put yourself in the same place....you have been up most all night, napping at time of incident, in a closed car, air conditioner running, fountain splashing and abruptly you are awakened. One walks out a door and says something....it is just as likely words were spoken to the effect of "she killed herself"......I know many times I have been so sure of something I have read and when disputed I go back and reread and see I was mistaken. It amazes me that some who post here give absolutely NO DOUBT that the limo is 100% accurate in what he says. I don't believe he is as he rephrased in the beginning and was TOO SURE when he was questioned on the stand. Alan Jackson does not impress me for I readily see how he questions...he tesitfies as much if not more than he questions. I don't know what happened that fateful night but I do know this...evidence points in both directions whether one likes it or not. When Lana sat with the married man 5 days prior crying in despair to the point he told her she needed help she HAD HER PURSE WITH HER! Did anyone but me pick up that in his testimony or had you all rather just ignore that because it doesn't fit as this prosecutor does? I pray that justice will prevail..which ever way it goes. The stick points in both directions...the law says in that event it goes in favor of the defendant.

you are reporting that the jurors sat in the car that is false, please correct your information. it is clear that they asked to do that and the judge said no. you have a responsibility to report the facts correctly. lets do a better job please.

Phil is guily

Spector is guilty. I used to compile the death statistics for L.A. County and I've never ever heard of a single case where a person went to a strangers home and shot themself in the head. This has probably never happened in the history of California.
The defense is trying to trash the history of the victim when Spector has a LONG history of being an out of control jerk. He has a long established history of pulling guns on women and men. He has a history of being mentally unstable. He DID IT!
I have done lots of shooting in my life and own several pistols and high powered rifles. No responsible person would ever handle a weapon the way Spector did and it is not surprising that he ended killing someone. That someone was Clarkson.
The question isn't DID he kill her--the question is why did it take so long for Spector to kill someone. The way he carelessy handled weapons and his mental illness made him a trainwreck waiting to happen.

Lock him up in state prison until he dies. That's what he deserves.

NB

The driver clearly retracted his testimony and admitted he was not sure what Phil Spector said.
