Author witness?
Two book authors appeared in court Monday: Mick Brown, whose Spector biography is due for release in June, and true crime writer Carlton Smith, who is updating his 2004 book "Reckless: Millionaire Record Producer Phil Spector and the Violent Death of Lana Clarkson." Brown is covering the trial for Britain's Daily Telegraph. He's also in a bit of a delicate situation: he may be called as a witness in the case.
In December 2002, Brown interviewed Spector, who told him, "I would say I'm probably relatively insane, to an extent," according to a story in the Telegraph. Two months later, Clarkson was shot dead. If Brown appears likely to take the witness stand, Judge Fidler may have to rule on whether he can continue to cover the trial. Witnesses in cases are not allowed to watch trials underway, to prevent their testimony from being shaped by what they see and hear in the courtroom.

Would love to get a link to Carlton Smith. I can hardly wait to get the full story with all the court details I have missed during the trial. Hope fully Mr. Smith can publish as soon as the creaton is sent off to jail! May his hate for women be relieved when a bodyguard sized roommate puts a ~ahem~ wepon in his mouth to go off!!!
