Antony and the Johnsons will play Walt Disney Concert Hall on Oct. 14

In addition to Beck, Nick Cave and Feist, LA Philharmonic senior program manager Johanna Rees has dropped another dreamy show in our laps. The LA Phil has just announced that Antony and the Johnsons will be coming to the Walt Disney Concert Hall on Oct. 14, accompanied by a 20-piece orchestra, with arrangements by Antony and composer of the pomo moment Nico Muhly. This will be the only West Coast performance from Antony and the Johnsons, who have an EP coming out, "Another World," on October 7 from Secretly Canadian.

Antony, nee Antony Hegarty, is no stranger to collabs with orchestras; he's performed with the London Symphony Orchestra, Milan Symphony and Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra. His other collaborations are equally notable, including his vocals on five tracks from Hercules and Love Affair's moody dance debut on DFA and a part on Bjork's upcoming single, "The Dull Flame of Desire." He's also helped out in the past on tracks with Rufus Wainwright, CocoRosie, Laurie Anderson, Linda Thompson, Matmos and Joan as Police Woman. Of course, this leaves our head spinning with surprise guest ideas but even without Anderson contributing some sort of jerry-rigged instrument solo, the show should be exquisitely moody for a crisp October night.
