IT’S THE YEAR 2002 and Emily (Emily VanCamp, left) begins plotting on a new episode of “Revenge” at 10 p.m. on ABC. With Amber Valletta.

SERIES

The Middle:

A four-leaf clover is accompanied by bad luck for Brick (Atticus Shaffer) in this new episode (8 p.m. ABC).

American Idol:
The finalists perform in a “California Dreaming” themed episode (8 p.m. Fox).

Criminal Minds:
Rossi (Joe Mantegna) and his team use a case that spanned 20 years to help a class of college students learn all the ins and outs of profiling. Thomas Gibson, Paget Brewster, Shemar Moore and Kirsten Vangsness also star in this new episode (9 p.m. CBS).

America’s Next Top Model:
In this new episode, the models learn some fighting moves, which they use in performing a scene with Hong Kong actor and singer-songwriter Nicholas Tse (9 p.m. KTLA).

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation:
The team investigates when a friend of the sheriff is suspected in the murder of his wife, and the resulting political fallout reveals details of Russell and Finlay’s (Ted Danson, Elisabeth Shue) past in the season finale of the drama (10 p.m. CBS).

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit:
The detective’s latest case, a string of attacks on gay men, hits close to home for Tutuola (Ice-T). One of the victims was engaged to his son, Ken (Ernest Waddell). Another victim is a teacher (Tony Hale) who lost his job at a private school for having a relationship with a student (Dylan Minnette) in this new episode (10 p.m. NBC).

Around the World in 80 Plates:
Cat Cora and Curtis Stone join 12 adventurous chefs on a spectacular 40-day culinary race across 10 countries that will test the contestants’ ability to navigate new cities, cultures and cuisines — and their own team members’ temperaments. In each episode, they must work together to complete challenges and win a locally prized “exceptional ingredient,” then use their newfound expertise to take over a popular eatery and create authentic dishes. The journey begins in London (10 p.m. Bravo).

Baseball:

The Tampa Bay Rays visit the New York Yankees (4 p.m. ESPN); the Angels visit the Twins (5 p.m. MyNet); the San Francisco Giants visit the Dodgers (7 p.m. FS Prime).

Basketball:
