Hulu hosted its upfront presentation in New York on Thursday and unveiled its latest original programming additions, including an animated series from ‘Saturday Night Live’ head writer Seth Meyers.

‘The Awesomes,’ from Meyers and fellow ‘SNL’ writer Michael Shoemaker, is described as, ‘An unassuming superhero and his cohorts battle diabolical villains, the ever-present paparazzi, and a less-than-ideal reputation as second-class crime fighters.’ It’s expected to debut on the site sometime in 2013.

The site is also set to debut a travel series called ‘Up to Speed,’ which follows tour guide and historian Timothy ‘Speed’ Levitch to forgotten and obscure tourist destinations around America, such as San Francisco’s shoe garden and the luckiest subway grate in New York City. It will debut this summer.

‘We Got Next’ will debut later this year and features four friends who bond on the basketball court as they deal with the realities of their lives. Kenya Barris, Hale Rothstein and Danny Leiner star.

The site also announced an upcoming reality music competition called ‘Don’t Quit Your Daydream,’ featuring a cast of all-star musicians traveling the country in search of struggling musicians to collaborate on a possible new hit song.

And ‘Flow,’ from creator Michael ‘Dooma’ Wendschuh, whose company worked on the first two ‘Assassin’s Creed’ video games and David Belle, the French founder of parkour (that sport where people run up walls).
