“Boardwalk Empire” won the SAG Award for ensemble in a TV drama series Sunday. It beat out AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” Showtime’s “Dexter,” HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” and CBS’ “The Good Wife” for the award.

The series finished its second season on HBO in December. Based on Nelson Johnson’s book about real-life criminal kingpin Enoch Johnson, “Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times and Corruption of Atlantic City,” this Prohibition-era drama chronicles the life of politician and gangster Enoch “Nucky” Thompson (Steve Buscemi).

This is the cast’s second win and nomination.

‘This is such an honor,’ said Buscemi. He earlier had won his second consecutive trophy for outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series.

The 18th Screen Actors Guild Awards were broadcast nationwide by TNT and TBS from the Shrine Exposition Hall in Los Angeles.
