SUNDAY

Owners and players were naughty, but hoops fans must have been awfully nice, because “NBA Basketball” is finally back, baby. And that includes the Lakers battling the Bulls and the Clippers facing the Warriors. (ABC, 2 p.m.; ESPN, FS Prime, 7:30 p.m.)

Fa-la-la-la-la la-la-la-la! Yuletide carols ancient and otherwise will be trolled at the “52nd Annual L.A. County Holiday Celebration,” a reprise of the homegrown Christmas Eve event held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. (KCET, 8 and 11 p.m.)

MONDAY

The fergalicious Fergie, the perrylicious Katy Perry, golden girl Reese Witherspoon, former first daughter Chelsea Clinton and yes, Kim “Asterisk” Kardashian are among the blushing brides featured in the special “Fascinating Celebrity Weddings.” (E!, 9 p.m.)

TUESDAY

Class acts: Jazz man Sonny Rollins, above, Broadway's Barbara Cook, pop music's Neil Diamond, cellist Yo-Yo Ma and Oscar winner Meryl Streep are saluted for their respective illustrious careers at “The 34th Annual Kennedy Center Honors.” (CBS, 9 p.m.)

WEDNESDAY

They'll dumpster-dive for treasure in another man's trash, squeeze ketchup from packets into empty bottles and pinch a penny so hard Abe Lincoln will say “Unhand me, sir!” They're “Extreme Cheapskates,” and they're profiled in this new special. (TLC, 9 p.m.) Et-lwbahwpd-dec25

THURSDAY

From her big-screen debut as a hit man's preteen apprentice in 1994's “The Professional” to her Oscar-winning turn as a ballerina going bonkers in 2010's “Black Swan,” the lovely and talented Natalie Portman, right, is profiled on a new edition of “Biography.” (Biography, 7 and 11 p.m.)

FRIDAY

Ben Affleck, Tommy Lee Jones and Chris Cooper are “The Company Men” — that is until they all get pink slips in this timely 2010 drama from writer-director John Wells (“ER,” “The West Wing”). Kevin Costner and Maria Bello also star. (Showtime, 9 p.m.)

SATURDAY

Auld acquaintance, indeed: “America's oldest teenager” owns this night, as usual, with “New Year's Rockin' Eve: The 40th Anniversary Party,” “Dick Clark's Primetime New Year's Rockin' Eve” and “Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve.” (ABC, 8, 10 and 11:30 p.m.)
