'Viking Apocalypse'
A MASS EXECUTION is suspected to have led to the Viking skulls found in a grave pit in England, as documented in the new special “Viking Apocalypse” at 5 and 8 p.m. National Geographic.


Biography: This new installment charts celebrities’ torturous transformations from goofy, geeky kids to gorgeous, glamorous stars (7 and 11 p.m. Biography).

The X Factor: The winner is revealed in Part Two of the vocal competition’s season finale (8 p.m. Fox).

The League: The fantasy football-themed comedy ends its season with back-to-back episodes (10 and 10:31 p.m. FX).

Project Accessory:
The winning designer is announced in the season finale (10 p.m. Lifetime).


Earth 2050: The Future of Energy:
This new special ponders possible alternative-energy solutions for the world’s ever-increasing population (7 p.m. Discovery).

Disney Prep & Landing:
The animated elves are back in this special, followed by “Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice” (8 and 8:30 p.m. ABC).

I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown!
Charles M. Schulz’s beloved Peanuts characters are featured in this animated holiday tale (9 p.m. ABC).


Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren play retired but still formidable CIA agents in this 2010 thriller (8 p.m. TMC).

Keira Knightley gets her hands dirty as an aspiring bounty hunter in director Tony Scott’s 2005 action drama (9 p.m. Sundance).


College football:
Arizona State battles Boise State at the Maaco Bowl in Las Vegas (5 p.m. ESPN).
