Remember the days of celebs learning they owed $900,000 in back taxes (Justin Timberlake) and Oscar winners getting a tongue-lashing from Comic-Con enthusiasts (Hilary Swank)? Well, get ready for more. After months of rumors, MTV officially announced it’s bringing back “Punk’d.”

The network will present a first look at footage from the series’ new season during its annual New Year’s Eve special. (How many of you are now wondering whether the whole season will be Kardashian-themed? The divorce, the basketball trade, the pregnancy -- we wouldn’t be surprised.)

The network is mum on who will be hosting the hidden camera show, set to premiere in 2012 -- saying viewers will have to wait to find out. Executive producer Ashton Kutcher originally helmed the show; he’s since been busy with his new TV gig, ‘Two and a Half Men,’ and those darn Nikon commercials. It’s been rumored that he’s passed the pranking baton to teen singing sensation Justin Bieber.
