‘Prime Suspect’ will wrap production at the end of the month — hardly a good sign for the rookie drama. And it also raises the question: What’s going to happen to the hat!?

The cop drama remake, which stars Maria Bello, was left off NBC’s midseason schedule (along with comedy ‘Community’); its 10 p.m. Thursday time slot will be replaced by ‘The Firm’ beginning Jan. 12.

While the peacock network hasn’t officially canceled the show (the network, according to a spokesperson, is still ‘considering their options’), the stop in production likely signals the show (and the hat) won’t be returning after it has completed its 13-episode order.
