Charlie’s Angels: After dispatching the Angels to rescue a family from kidnappers, Charlie learns that Abby’s (Rachael Taylor) estranged father (John Terry) may have a connection to the case in this new episode (8 p.m. ABC).

Rules of Engagement: Russell (David Spade) tries to get out of his marriage to Liz (Wendi McLendon-Covey), but she’s determined to make it work. Patrick Warburton, Megyn Price, Oliver Hudson, Bianca Kajlich and Adhir Kalyan also star in the season premiere (8:30 p.m. CBS).

Sweet Home Alabama: A Southern bachelor will choose among 10 city girls and 10 country girls in his search for love as the unscripted series returns for a new season (9 p.m. CMT).

Whitney: Whitney (Whitney Cummings) gives Alex (Chris D’Elia) the silent treatment after he refuses to admit to admiring another woman, but he’s actually enjoying the punishment, in this new episode (9:30 p.m. NBC).

The Mentalist: When a murdered woman’s body washes up on an island off the coast, Patrick (Simon Baker) and his colleagues question the eccentrics who call the island home. Owain Yeoman, Amanda Righetti and Robin Tunney star in this new episode (10 p.m. CBS).
