In what has to be the most exciting TV comeback since Tony Danza turned up on his teaching reality show, NBC has announced that ‘Fear Factor’ is officially back.

This calls for a celebration. Barkeep — horse rectum for everyone!

The show that practically invented wretched reality-TV excess — former NBC honcho Jeff Zucker liked to joke that his network was ‘the home of quality TV — and ‘Fear Factor’’ — the gross-out smorgasbord was a fave of 12-year-old boys everywhere during its 2001-2006 run.

Starting Dec. 12, ‘Fear Factor’ will land in the 8 p.m. Monday slot currently occupied by ‘The Sing-Off.’

And get this: NBC is promising to make ‘Factor’ even grosser this time around.

‘We have taken the groundbreaking ‘Fear Factor’ franchise that many fans remember fondly and have ramped it up to make it even more challenging and competitive than ever before,’ NBC reality boss Paul Telegdy said in a statement. ‘Once again, the contestants will have to face their ultimate fears to prevail — and the tension and drama of that process will make for some riveting television.’
