In a new episode of the science series “Nova,” scientists examine a 5,000-year-old mummified corpse that was pulled from a glacier in the Italian Alps in the early 1990s. At 9 p.m. on KOCE.

Whitechapel: In this new six-part crime drama set in East London, two investigators (Rupert Penry-Jones, Phil Davis) determine that brutal slayings are patterned after past local crimes, including the Jack the Ripper murders (7 and 10 p.m. BBC America).

Suburgatory: George and Tessa (Jeremy Sisto, Jane Levy) are eager to celebrate their first Halloween in suburbia, but Tessa’s costume is a bust, in this new episode (8:30 p.m. ABC).

Criminal Minds: After vouching for an inmate’s (Kyle Secor) rehabilitation and helping him win parole, Morgan (Shemar Moore) regrets his decision when the man murders someone just days after being released. Philip Casnoff, Rachel Nichols and Jayne Atkinson also guest star (9 p.m. CBS).

America’s Next Top Model: The models pose as reality television stars — wait, aren’t they already reality television stars? — in this new episode with Kathy Griffin (9 p.m. KTLA).

Modern Family: Claire (Julie Bowen) prepares to make the Dunphy house spooky for Halloween, but things don’t go as she planned in this new episode (9 p.m. ABC).

Happy Endings: While Brad and Jane (Damon Wayans Jr., Eliza Coupe) spend Halloween house-sitting, their friends attend a warehouse party where their costumes don’t have the effect they were hoping for. Top Chef: Just Desserts: Three chefs compete in a final challenge patterned on the French competition Meilleurs Ouvriers de France, in the season finale (10 and 11 p.m. Bravo).
