Part 2 of the season premiere of Fox’s highly touted ‘The X Factor’ on Thursday equaled its Wednesday night audience, giving the network encouraging news about the reality show’s immediate status.

‘The X Factor’ scored 12.5 million viewers against heavy competition from the season premieres of the smash hit ‘The Big Bang Theory’ NBC’s ‘Community’ and ‘Parks and Recreation’ and the premiere of ABC’s revamped version of ‘Charlie’s Angels.’ The talent show had the same number of viewers the previous night, which several industry insiders said was a disappointment given expections and the extensive promotional campaign.
